FROM THE NEWSLETTER

Did you spend your Economic Stimulus Check yet, the government rebate that required a
2007 federal tax return? For most Americans who regularly file their 1040 returns this process was invisible. For those however, not required to file a federal return, such as our seniors, this became an obstacle. To eliminate this barrier, the Department of Taxation in conjunction
with the Department of Aging and the Internal Revenue Service offered a free tax preparation session that took place March 25, 2008. Fifty-three returns were completed and mailed resulting in over $15,000.00 in rebate checks for our elderly residents.

To assist our residents and businesses, we have compiled some
Frequently Asked Questions that will hopefully help answer your tax questions.

Brook Park is a member of the Ohio Municipal League. The Ohio Municipal League was incorporated as an Ohio non-profit corporation in 1952 by city and village officials who saw the need for a statewide association to serve the interests of Ohio municipal government.
